Noodle Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 21, 2026
Last Updated: October 21, 2026
Your notes are yours. We never sell them or use them for ads. They're encrypted, used only to run Noodle, and you can delete everything anytime.
Noodle ("Noodle," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Noodle application, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to the Noodle mobile applications (iOS and Android), our websites, and any related services.
1. Who We Are
Noodle is a relationship-management application designed to help you remember important context about the people in your life and make more intentional decisions about where you invest your time and attention.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Account information. When you create a Noodle account, we collect your email address. We use email one-time passcodes (OTP) for sign-in — we do not collect or store passwords.
People and notes. The core of Noodle is information you choose to record about people in your personal and professional life — their names, your notes and observations, context you want to remember, relationship details, and similar information. This information is stored on our servers so you can access it across sessions.
Profile photos. If you choose to attach a photo to a person's profile, that image is stored on our servers.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Usage and analytics data. We collect information about how you use Noodle to improve the product. This includes app open events, feature interactions, nudge impressions, session identifiers, platform (iOS or Android), and app version. This data is stored in our own systems and is not shared with third-party advertising networks.
Crash and error reports. If Noodle crashes or encounters an error, we collect technical information about the error — including device type, operating system version, app version, and a stack trace — to help us identify and fix problems. We use Sentry for crash reporting.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your contacts. If you use the contact-linking feature (to text, call, or email someone directly from their card), you pick a single contact using your device's native contact picker. The name, phone number, and email from that contact are stored only on your device — they are never transmitted to our servers.
- We do not store your voice recordings. Voice is transcribed on your device when your phone supports it. When it doesn't, the audio is processed by your phone's speech service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android). Noodle never stores your recordings. Only the resulting text is sent to our servers.
- We do not sell your information to third parties for advertising or any other commercial purpose.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not collect financial information. Noodle has no paid features or in-app purchases at this time.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and personalize the service — store your notes, surface relationship nudges, generate AI-assisted summaries, and power the Ask feature.
- Authenticate your account — verify your identity via email OTP when you sign in.
- Improve the product — analyze aggregate usage patterns and fix bugs and crashes.
- Send you notifications — relationship reminders and nudges, if you grant notification permission.
- Communicate with you — respond to support requests and send important account or service notices.
4. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
Several Noodle features use artificial intelligence:
- Capture extraction. When you record a note about someone, we use AI to extract and structure the key information from your text.
- Summaries. We generate AI-powered summaries of your notes for a person's profile card.
- Nudge copy. We use AI to generate personalized nudge messages suggesting when to reach out.
- Ask. You can ask Noodle questions about the people in your network and receive AI-generated answers based on your notes.
For these features, your note content is sent to Anthropic (the maker of Claude), our third-party AI provider, for processing. Anthropic processes this content to generate the requested output. Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models.
Your content is sent to Anthropic only when you actively use these features. It is transmitted over encrypted connections.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only as described below:
Service providers. We use trusted third-party providers to help us operate Noodle:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Cloud database and infrastructure | Account info, notes, usage events |
| Anthropic | AI processing (extraction, summarization, Ask) | Note content you choose to process |
| Sentry | Crash and error reporting | Device info, error stack traces |
| Apple (speech recognition, only when on-device isn't available) | Turns your voice into text on iPhones that can't do it on device | Voice audio while you record; not stored by Noodle |
| Google (speech recognition, only when on-device isn't available) | Turns your voice into text on Android phones that can't do it on device | Voice audio while you record; not stored by Noodle |
Each provider is bound by its terms to use your information only to provide its service to us.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Noodle, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If Noodle is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or in-app notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period (generally within 30 days), subject to:
- Legal or regulatory retention requirements
- Fraud prevention and security purposes
- Legitimate business record-keeping obligations
Crash reports in Sentry are retained according to Sentry's standard retention periods (typically 90 days).
Information you have stored only on your device (contact links) is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the app's local storage.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Access and correction. You can view and edit information in your Noodle account at any time within the app.
Deletion. You can delete individual notes or person profiles from within the app. Delete your account anytime in the app (Profile → Delete account) or email support@noodleit.me from your account email, or request deletion at https://noodleit.me/delete-account.
Notifications. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app.
Contacts permission. You can revoke the contacts permission in your device settings at any time. Revoking it will prevent you from linking contacts for reach-out, but will not affect other app features.
Microphone and speech recognition. You can revoke microphone and speech recognition permissions in your device settings. Revoking them disables voice capture.
Calendar. You can revoke calendar permission in your device settings. Revoking it disables the "set aside time" scheduling feature.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law (such as GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws), including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@noodleit.me.
8. Children's Privacy
Noodle is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@noodleit.me.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest, access controls, and security monitoring.
No method of data transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Data Transfers
Noodle's infrastructure is operated by Supabase and other providers who may store or process data in the United States or other countries. By using Noodle, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, which may have different data protection laws.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use of Noodle after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
